Hee I might describe mother: Audrey A. Vagiates was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 1, 1926 and went to school at Alma College in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada where in 1945 she was selected as MAY QUEEN. As a very young lady she had her first piano concert.

Here I might describe Dad: Monte G. Basbas was born in Manchester, NH on May 6, 1921. He received an AB degree at Dartmouth college in 1946 (WAR INTERRUPTED) and a JD degree from Boston University School of law in June, 1949. MGB served as Newton City Clerk 1951-1965, Newton Mayor 1965-1971 and Presiding Justice Newton District Court 1971-1990.
He served as a P-38 pilot in the South Pacific during Worls War II and received the DFC, the Air Medal with clusters and eight battle stars.
